SERIOUS ABOUT TEACHING BASKETBALL. BUILT FOR KIDS.

Our Story

Austin Wildcats Basketball started in 1999 with a simple belief: kids deserve to be taught the game, not just shown it.

When the program returned in 2026 as ATX Wildcats, that belief became our mission. We saw too many young athletes moving from practice to game to tournament without ever having the chance to truly understand the game—or simply enjoy it.

We believe great players aren't rushed. They're developed. That's why we slow things down. We teach the fundamentals. We explain the “why” behind every drill. We help players build Basketball IQ alongside confidence.

Because our goal isn't just to develop better basketball players. It's to help raise kids who still love grabbing a ball and heading to the park years from now.

Basketball is taught here.

Our values

We coach CARE

CARE stands for Concentration, Attitude, Respect, and Effort — the four habits we coach in every drill. Kids hear these words every Sunday, and coaches notice when they get them right.

Concentration icon — eye with target

Concentration

Eyes up, mind on the drill.

Attitude icon — star with flame

Attitude

Bring energy. Lift teammates.

Respect icon — paws in a high-five

Respect

For coaches, teammates, themselves, and the game.

Effort icon — lightning bolt and sweatband

Effort

Hard now beats easy later.
